I'm in Paraguay!!!!!

Hey family~

I”m here in Paraguay!

Last night they put us in a house with some other missionaries and it was crazy! There were 12 in the house that I was in,6 in a hotel the rest in other houses!  its nuts!!! The house  that I  was in had 2 bathrooms~ one had a shower and no lights and the other has no lights and no shower haha its pretty funny!   This place is way prettier than Argentina!!!

Tomorrow we will get our new companions  It’s going to be so cool!

We figured out there are 190 missionaries here and 145 of them are from United States so I hope to get bunch of American companions. Well I love you!

PARAGUAY HERE I COME!!!!

Hey family~ I just get a couple minutes to e mail and tell you that i love you and i am leaving for paraguay tonight!!!!! they told us we leave at 225 in the morning we will be in paraguay tommorrow! i love you family and i miss you like wild! President Openshaws wife might be getting my package for me today im still hoping she does i have no idea thought well i love you and will write you as soon as they let us i love you happy birthday dad hope you had a good one and i love you

Hey family

Yesterday I didnt get the chance to write the power went off then when it came on there were 70 lations going crazy for computers so I decided  I would just write today and let you all know how much I love you.

On  Tuesday I fly to Paraguay it has been very hard paying attention in class the last week because we are learning the same things over and over again so its very hard im very excited to get out of here and get to Paraguay. Its going to be so sweet im so excited! there are 23 of us going to Paraguay there are 11 gringos and the rest are  latinos,

They say that Paraguay is going to be crazy because the missionaries run the church. pretty cool I guess ha they say for service we build houses and schools pretty good time right. Its so hot here and they say this is the coldest Paraguay will ever be so I dont know how excited I am for the heat but im so excited to finally get there

So. I was walking around and a missionary told me I look familiar crazy thing was he was on Kolbys super leauge baseball team. pretty insane

So on Saturday when we went into the city I got in a house talking to a old man and he was trying to preach to me and after about a house with my broken Spanish I look at him and asked do you believe anything we are saying?  will you pray if what we are saying is true and he said no so we just walked out of his house. then as we were walking away he started to be interested it was a pretty cool experience.

Next time I talk to you I will be in Paraguay!

Familia~

heyyy familia how is everything going.  its so good to hear from you I miss you all like crazy. I got my first letters it was perfect because I needed them so bad this week.

So I got something to tell Dad that will make him happy so there is an Elder Armodio he is Italian. I love talking to him he is from Utah but he hasn’t lived in the states to long so he talks sweet. I told him that Dad went to Italy on his mission. He said you must be a great man because only the good people in the world are from Italy or go on their missions there. He is way funny.

I love being here only Im ready to go to Paraguay. There are some funny things about Paraguay like when they talk it sounds like beatboxing because its Spanish but super sloppy!  so the people from paraguay told me it doesnt rain there that often at all and its way hot.  Other missionaries told me that  no one wants to get called to Paraguay because of the snakes and they suck at soccer. That’s pretty funny. I heard  that the missionaries are always doing service they help ppl build houses and churches thats pretty sweet.

Well it’s the temple open house. They let us go to the Temple. Its not done yet but its my favorite temple. The baptismal font is incredible. This temple is very pretty.

My new latino companion is really cool he is nice he knows some English.  his name is Elder Martinez. I have been so stressed because my teachers and no one in my district speaks any english and they speak so fast I  dont really understand its so frustrating but it will be alright. I dont talk very much in class anymore because I only know the basic things in spanish but its alright things will get better We have teachers more often they gave us a girl Avces and a guy named Catila. They are way cool.

Every night we have to plan a lesson to teach an investigator. On Sunday they let all the Americans be together. It is way nice. We all have to plan talks and than the Presidents picks 3 of us to talk. I haven’t had to do it yet been pretty lucky because my Spanish is lackin.

I have made pretty cool friends here. Its been hard but I know it will be better once I get to Paraguay and not sitting here stressing about the language and my knee so much. my knee is jackked but it will be okay  I hope.

Mattea I have a story for you. I had to go out proselyting and I saw this punk kid teasing his little sister and I started to cry a little bit because I know how much he is going to regret teasing her . It was just like me. So I walked over and gave her my alfajor it’s a cookie with carmel inside dipped in chocolate its very popular here. I will have to bring one home to you. I hope you know that I love your stinkin guts. You’re the best little sister around. I hear you are going to get another horse. That is so cool. Im so proud of you. Mattea I wish I would have been more involved with piano when I was your age I know its hard now but it is such a cool talent you have. I’m super jelous. Keep up the good work and keep making good choices I don’t worry about that just have fun and keep being SMART!

I hope you know you’re the most important people in my life. Thank you for always being so good to me and even when I was a punk and wasn’t going to go on a mission you all still loved me and helped me out so much!

Well im learning the spanish pretty good.
Its crazy but the language is coming it was wicked I was talking to a investigador and I taught the entire lesson in spanish and after I couldnt rememeber anything I had said I know its not me teaching here its the spirit its sweet.

This monday i will get a latio companion im sooo excited!

My comp is being a little better he recognized he was being a jerk and now he helps me alot

so it was pretty cool my comp changed his whole teaching approach cause he just does doctrine and I told him all the time ppl dont care they just want someone friendly and he didnt believe me but now he is starting to be a good guy haha but Im still looking forward to getting a new companion

Im almost leaving the mtc and im soooo excited its time to get out of here my departure date is August 28th.

I had to get a haircut here and they gave me the ugliest haircut the back looks awful I miss our salon and wish I would have learned how to do it myself haha.

We got to go through the temple one day but it wasnt finished yet they didnt have most the furniture so I hope we will get to go in the next couple weeks. they cant have us help with the open house because they cant rely on our spanish and there are not many ppl going through the open house its nothing like the draper open house probably 100 ppl a day is it

I started reading the book of mormon a lot here since last thursday I started mosiah and now I am in alma 29 so almost 180 pages

Me and my friend Elder Rigby are having a way good time here cause we are just being ourselves i just hope my knee gets better soon and everything will be perfecty I have been working it out a ton and running on it so I can get it strong

Argentina is way weird I got kissed by a old woman on saturday because she wouldnt talk to us and no one else either so I grabbed her broom and started sweeping her drive way and she asked me what we are doing here and I said we just want to help ya. She asked where our families are and I cried and said they are in Utah and she gave me a hug and kissed me and said she doesnt know why we came here but she knows its right if 19 year old boys would do it

hey I miss you I have been reading the BOM alot and been thinking about you a ton there is a girl missionary here hermana wood and I told here you want to go on a mission she told me its the best decision she has ever made and girl missionaries get so many baptisms its incredible mattea i think you should really think about it and in doctrine & covants chapter 9 vs 7 and 8 a very improtant scripture to me because it is what I did in preparing myself to come on a mission you should read it i love you mattea sooo much

Hola familia

Well another week here in the MTC.  its been real crazy here lately they decided to put carpet down so we always have a different classroom because they can’t find places for us but its alright.

 My buddy is here from Alta Howell Asay it was so nice to have him here.  next week we get new Americans and I get a lation companion. finally the president talked to me because he knows my companion is kinda crazy and he says I will get a cool latino.

 My best friend here is elder Tanner Rigby from Provo.  I love this kid we are on the same floor. he is like a big brother makes sure i dont do anything to hurt my knee.

 I started getting a gap in my teeth like Westons its pretty gnarly.

 My knee to be honest freakin kills I wanted to come home so bad because of it until one of my lation roomamates came up to me and gave me his favorite soccer shirt. I asked why and he said I look like the missonary that baptised him and then he started crying I can barley understand him but he is the only memeber in his family and they disowned him when he decided to come on a mission its so crazy!

Yesterday we got some letters I was the only missionary to get any it was so nice getting letters you have no idea I love you guys so much. Mattea that is so amazing congrats on making team your a amazing im so proud of you. I wish I could see how its going and ride some more with you.

Hey Sharla how are you I miss you so I have been having dreams about all the little girls lately and how much I miss them I got a letter from preslie and a  picture. I have a picture of the 3 girls hung up on my wall I love them so  much!
